Philip joined the foundation in 2017 as the deputy director for Malaria and Integrated Development, with 15 years’ experience in consulting and in the pharmaceutical industry.

Prior to this, he was the head of Novartis Portfolio Collaborations for Sandoz/Novartis, based in Munich, Germany. In this position, he was responsible for all major commercial collaboration projects across Sandoz, Alcon, and Novartis Pharma’s development and technical operations. These projects included the RxGx program (a collaboration to bring generic versions of Novartis originator products to market, covering $400M of yearly sales), as well as the transfer of a $900M portfolio of mature brands from Novartis Pharma to Sandoz (incl. regulatory, legal, supply chain and people transfer).

Before Sandoz, Philip was a principal in the Brussels office of the Boston Consulting Group. He was focused on healthcare and operations projects, and had the opportunity to work on 30+ projects across Europe and Latin America.

He has a MSc in Electronic Engineering from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium), and an MBA from INSEAD (France). Philip is Belgian, born in Mexico - he is fluent in Spanish, Dutch, English, French and intermediate in German.
