Our Work in Europe

The foundation has worked within Europe since its inception, and our European partners—including governments, universities, nongovernmental organizations, community groups, and research institutes—have been instrumental in advancing our global health and development goals. In addition to building relationships with partners, the Europe team works to sustain European donor support for international development and supports the foundation’s policy, advocacy, and communications activities in Europe.

A Message from the Director

Europe has long been an important partner for the foundation in tackling the world’s pressing health and development challenges. Europe is responsible for more than half of the world’s development aid and has a long history of applying its resources, innovations, and insights to saving lives and reducing poverty. Its activist civil society and engaged media have also played an important role in advancing these efforts.

The foundation’s Europe team, established in 2010, is based in London but draws on expertise and strong networks throughout Europe. I hope you will take the time to explore some of our projects and learn more about our partnerships.
