Tackling Domestic Challenges

We support China’s efforts to address some of its critical domestic health and development challenges, including poverty, nutrition, tobacco control and infectious diseases, and philanthropic development in China.

TUBERCULOSIS We invest in developing and pilot-testing innovative approaches to controlling TB that improve diagnosis and treatment and reduce patient costs. Read more
HIV We work with the government and community organizations on a program to prevent HIV transmission and improve care and treatment for those who are infected. Read more
TOBACCO CONTROL We work with government agencies, researchers, and domestic and international organizations to advocate policies that reduce tobacco use in China. We also support social marketing campaigns that aim to change social norms around tobacco use. Read more
PHILANTHROPIC PARTNERSHIPS We bring together a wide range of partners to encourage charitable giving and advocate improved policies in China’s philanthropic sector. Read more
POVERTY ALLEVIATION We support China as it strives to realize the goal of eliminating extreme poverty, by working with partners to pilot innovative models in rural healthcare, nutrition and financial services for the poor, and mobilizing social resources. Read more
Nutrition We work with the Chinese government and other partners to address challenges around nutrition by supporting interventions to improve nutrition among rural children, and strengthen the policy and social environment for breastfeeding. Read more
